India: Rockwool India intends to start operations at its new 50,000t/yr stone wool plant at Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu in the second quarter of 2026. The unit had an investment of around US$60m, will be larger than the company’s existing plant in Gujarat and will become the company’s key production site in India, according to The Hindu newspaper. The new plant will also manufacture sandwich panels.
Rebrand for Kingspan’s EPS lines in North America
North America: Kingspan Insulation North America has rebranded its expanded polystyrene (EPS) product line as AeroRoof, AeroWall and AeroSlab, with different names for different applications.
The AeroRoof brand encompasses flute fillers for standing seam metal roof systems, tapered EPS boards for high-traffic roofs and Holey Board lightweight EPS insulation for concrete. AeroWall features BackerBoard siding insulation and underlay, while AeroSlab features the A-One insulated concrete forming system and GeoFoam lightweight engineered fill.
Senior Director of Building Solutions Billy Conry said “This reorganisation makes it easier for contractors, designers and engineers to specify the right EPS solution for each application.”
Enverge Spray Foam enters market in Canada
Canada: Tennessee-based Enverge Spray Foam is expanding into Canada and launching its 1860 CDN spray foam insulation. The spray foam insulating provider says the 1860 CDN closed-cell spray foam insulation is engineered in compliance with local building codes, formulation requirements and energy efficiency standards.
Enverge is a part of Amrize, a provider of advanced building solutions and materials.
Rapid growth forecast for insulated wall panels
World: A newly published report - Global Insulation Wall Panels Market Insights, Forecast 2025 to 2031 - by QY Research has highlighted the key driving factors and restraints that are impacting the growth of insulated wall panels. The report states that the global market for insulated wall panels was estimated to be worth US$5.48bn in 2024 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$9.63bn by 2031 with a compound annual growth rate of 8.5% over the six year period.
Mixit to sell warehouse
Austria: Mixit Dämmstoffe is reportedly seeking a buyer for its Hohenems insulation storage and distribution facility amidst ‘difficult and expensive’ market conditions. The 1000m² facility serves in the supply of Thermotec brand insulation to western Austria, southern Germany and Switzerland. Mixit Dämmstoffe has invested €2m in the site, local press has reported.
PGF Capital to expand insulation business in Malaysia
Malaysia: PGF Capital Bhd, based in Penang, has announced plans to increase its production of glass wool insulation via a new facility in Kulim, Kedah. The facility will begin production in April 2026, tripling PGF’s current glass wool output.
The company says that it will direct much of the new capacity to meet surging demand in Oceania markets, especially Australia and New Zealand. The additional production volume will also allow the group to re-enter markets such as India, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Middle East. The group exited these markets a few years ago due to capacity constraints at its Perai plant.
While insulation requirements in these countries may not be as stringent as Australia and New Zealand, Fong says governments are progressively tightening their building codes in line with sustainability goals.
The bulk of PGF’s revenue comes from Australia and New Zealand, accounting for about 70% of the group’s sales. The remainder is derived from Malaysia and Singapore.
Knauf Insulation to build new blowing wool line at Shelbyville insulation plant
US: Knauf Insulation is upgrading its Shelbyville plant in Indiana. The upgrade consists of a new blowing wool line, expanded glass production, a new pipe production line, modernisation of an existing pipe production line. Local press has reported that the blowing wool line is scheduled for commissioning by the end of June 2026. Knauf said that the upgrade advances its aims of growing and integrating best available technologies.
Knauf Insulation said that it is on track to achieve formaldehyde-free production across North America by the end of 2025.
New advertising campaign generates buzz for Actis’ Hybris and Eolis HC insulation
UK: Actis has launched a new advertising campaign for its flagship Hybris and Eolis HC reflective insulation products. The campaign features imagery of bees and honeycomb, which inspired the structure of the products’ air gaps.
Hybris and Eolis HC insulation contain recycled and 100% recyclable materials and are free from harmful dust, fibres and volatile organic compounds.
Construction UK Magazine has reported that Actis UK and Ireland Sales Director Mark Cooper said “Specifiers and builders must futureproof the homes they build, and homeowners need to look at retrofitting where possible to ensure that as well as keeping them warm in winter, properties stay cool in summer.” Cooper noted the increased risk of extreme temperatures after the UK recorded its hottest summer on record in 2025.
